Are you a professional singer or a shower singer? No matter which, singing brings us to a new level of enjoyment of life. Sometimes our heartfelt thoughts can be put on paper or communicated through our speaking voices, but if we want to “take it up a notch”, life needs music!
Can it be any coincidence that the angels sang at the birth of Jesus?
Songs are the great unifiers that bring the past, present and future together. Song writers leave maps through their written songs that allow us to recreate the same songs that were once birthed in their hearts. Whether it be the Hallelujah Chorus or White Christmas, songs bring us back, not only to the song writer, but also to our past.
It is an amazing experience to watch a group of people listen to the same old song. Even when we are physically in the same place in the present, we are all in different places in our past memories.
Not only are the tones of a song important, but so also are the rhythms. Our heart sets its beat to the rhythm around it. It has been discovered that babies are more peaceful when exposed to a regular heartbeat, like they heard from their mother in the womb. Isn’t it interesting that the Lord designed breast feeding to bring the baby close to his mother’s heart again? Isn’t it interesting that when we hug one another, we put our hearts next to the heart of the other person?
Are you listening to the songs of the world that bring you down and create doubt and anger? Or are you listening to the songs of the Lord that bring peace and joy? This season, spend some heart time with God, setting your heart to the rhythm of His Heart. And while you are enjoying His Holy Hug, listen closely … and you may hear the song of thousands of angels, singing, “Glory to God in the Highest … and Peace on Earth to men (and women) on whom His Favor rests!”
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace to men on whom His Favor rests!”

These words can describe our personal experience of God’s love for us and remind me of the two meanings for the Trinity found in the Hebrew word El Shaddi – according to Hebraists, the Hebrew Shaddai, is a plural word.
Two divine qualities, implied by the name El SHADDAI
The “strong” One who is able to deliver
The “tender” One who nourishes and satisfies.
The Hebrew word shaddai comes from the root word ‘breast’.
Literally translated it would mean ‘many-breasted one’.
The word is derived from a Hebrew root which, according to the vowel points, can signify either nourisher (breast – Heb. shad) or destroyer (shadad).
