In the military, there are ranks. When the commanding officer speaks, their word tops that of any lower officer giving a command.
When commands are given, those who have been trained will know whether it is their real commander speaking.
How? They recognize their voice. They know whether what they are saying lines up with what they have been taught.
Jesus said, “My sheep hear My Voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
Each country has a designated leader.
However, there is One Who outranks any leader. His Commands are the ones we must follow.
“For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God.”
He is here now. He is giving His Commands to the troubled world.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
“My Command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.”
In this troubled time, there are many professing to be followers of Jesus. There is one simple way to know if they are true followers.
“If you love me, keep my commands.”
