Then Jesus told them this parable:

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?

And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.

Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’

I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

When you read this story, to whom do you relate?

Are you the lost sheep, the shepherd or one of the 99?

Truth be told, most of us have been all three at one time or another in our life.

We have been lost.

We have chosen to stay within our group instead of being concerned about the lost.

But at our best, we have left the comfort and routine of our lives and gone out and sought the lost.  And when we found them, we brought them home.

Take a few minutes and ask God to bring to mind who He wants you to find.  Then don’t delay.  Find them.  Treat them with kindness.  Bring them home.  Celebrate their return!
