Violence is happening throughout the world. The earth and oceans are crying out.
People are strategizing all kinds of ways to stop the violence. Yet it continues.
Those of us who pray cry out to God to do something … stop the evil people from overtaking the good.
Perhaps that line of thought is the very thing that is hindering us. We believe we are good and our enemies are evil.
We may acknowledge we have a few flaws, but come on, we are not as bad as they are. So we judge them guilty and us, not as guilty.
However, Jesus said we do not get to judge. He said, “Judge not, that you also be judged.”
Paul said, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
So if we can’t judge and we have to admit we can’t compete for sainthood yet, still we can’t just sit back and be pushovers, can we? What can we do?
The answer is often quoted, but seldom followed.
“if My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
What would happen if our leaders called everyone who calls themselves by God’s Name, to prayer?
What if they said, “We first need to humble ourselves and realize we are all in the same camp as our enemies. We are all sinners.”
What if they said, “We need to begin by asking God to search our hearts and show us where we have gone wrong. Then we need to repent. And we need to change our ways.”
What if the battle strategy was what Jesus said to do?
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
Sometimes we pray and ask God to do what we think is right. But He is calling us to do what He says is right.
You can begin right now wherever you are. Do your part and leave the rest to God.
The battle belongs to The Lord!
1 Samuel 17:47
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit!” says The Lord Almighty.
