I grew up in a small church in a small town. The people embodied the very essence of The Love of Jesus.
They did not just meet together in a building on Sundays. They did life together in all the twists and turns and ups and downs. If someone was missing on Sunday morning, someone went to look for them.
After I left home, I was always a part of a church. When I married Jay, we joined a church. Our continued spiritual journey took us through various faiths and diverse churches.
Wherever we went, we were sure of one thing. God is Love. Love is All. And always, wherever we went, we sought to share God’s Love.
We never left a church in anger or bitterness and we never left until we felt a clear call to go another direction. Satan pushes. God leads.
The past few years have been difficult for us. For the first time in our lives, we were not able to attend church, primarily for health reasons.
It was then we discovered what it was like to be “lost sheep.” I wrote this blog post last year and reposted it recently. It details both our desire to be “found” and God’s gentle reminder that we ourselves were guilty of not seeking other lost sheep.
We have been praying that we understand where God is leading us now. In this time of seeking, we recently had a wonderful visit with the Rector of a local Episcopal Church.
I “discovered” him on their church’s video feed. His Messages radiated their church mission, the same one God put in my heart many years ago. Love is all!
We were so blessed he was willing to come to our home and visit with us.
We do not know yet the full map of where God is leading us. We never do. But these moments will always be treasures and reminders God hears and never ever forgets us.
After a country ride today, we were amazed to discover flowers on our front porch. The note explained. They were flowers from the altar of the church, bringing the sweet fragrance of Christ into our home.
Our two year grandson, who seems to have a special connection with God’s Creations, spent a lot of time enjoying the flowers too.
Praise be to God Who is Love. We are so thankful for those who go beyond church walls to deliver His Love.
I have loved you, my people, with an Everlasting Love. With unfailing Love I have drawn you to Myself.
Jeremiah 31:3
Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another!
