Life is often like putting a puzzle together.  We can’t get some pieces to fit until we have put in other pieces before them.

God gives us a piece at a time.  He seems to say, “When you understand the last lesson, then I will tell you more.  When you do the last thing I told you to do, we will move on.”

Jesus included this principle in the parable of the faithful servant.  The master said,

You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.

Matthew 25:23

The servant had to be faithful over those few things first before he would be put in charge of greater things.

There are some things God is not going to tell us.  It is strictly His Business and not ours.  When Jesus’ Disciples asked Him after His Resurrection, if He was going to restore the kingdom to Israel, Jesus replied,

“It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.”

Acts 1:7

If God won’t tell us everything, will He tell us anything?  How do we know what to do?

You can ask God anything.

God said,

“Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

Jeremiah 33:3

Jesus said,

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Mathew 7:7

James said,

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”

James 1:5

John brings it all together in perspective.

‘If we ask anything according to His Will He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of Him.”

1 John 5:14-15

What is His Will?  He gave many specific directives.  But His Will always goes to the same place.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.

John 13:34

Before we ask God, we must ask ourselves, “Do I want to know this so I can extend God’s Love to others?”  If it is, expect His Answer.

If it isn’t, expect silence or a redirect.

And while you are waiting for an answer, remember God’s Answer may surprise you.😘

“For My Thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My Ways,” declares The Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My Ways higher than your ways and My Thoughts than your thoughts!”

Isaiah 55: 9-10
