I wonder if caterpillars ever think about their future as a butterfly.
Do they know that one day they will enter what will seem like the darkest time of their life only to emerge more beautiful than they ever were before?
Do they know they will no longer be held to crawling on the ground, but they will be able to fly?
Can they imagine all the things they will see they never saw before?
Do they know who they are destined to become?
And when they become butterflies, do they remember their time as a caterpillar? Do they come back and encourage those who have not evolved yet?
I think they do return and they visit more than just caterpillars.
I have been doing a lot of looking down recently due to a series of health problems.
Then a butterfly appeared several days ago. Jay saw her and pointed her out to me. She perched on the deck door glass, high enough I had to look up to see her. And she rested there, periodically stretching her wings, revealing all her beauty.
She stayed as long as I looked. When I walked away, she flew away. But she came back the next day and the next.
Without a doubt, she is God’s Messenger. She reminded me to look up.
And then she delivered her message in my spirit.
Notice the beauty all around you. Uncross your arms and lift them in praise to your Creator.
Face the trials of this day with patience and perseverance, knowing they will pass.
Anticipate the great and glorious day when you will be changed and you will fly like the wind.
Thanks be to God for His Messengers. Some angels come in the form of butterflies!
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
