God gave us a most powerful Gift.  He gave us His Name.

In a marriage, often the woman puts her husband’s name after hers.  When I married Jay Jones, I became Carolyn Jones.

In a marriage with God, we put His Name first.

He was very clear He did not want us misusing His Name.  In fact, He made it a Commandment.

You shall not misuse The Name of The Lord your God, for The Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses His Name.

Exodus 20:7

Many people think this means, “Don’t use God’s Name to swear.”  But it means more than that.

What is God’s Name?  Moses was bold enough to ask Him.  God told him.  He said His Name is I AM.

He said, “This is My Name forever, The Name you shall call Me from generation to generation.”

Exodus 3:15

When we use God’s Name correctly, all The Power in the universe flows forth.

When Jesus said God’s Name, look what happened.  The soldiers said they were looking for Jesus of Nazareth.

When Jesus said, “I AM He,” they drew back and fell to the ground.

John 18:6

But The Power only flows when we connect God’s Name with Who God is.  To do anything else is to misuse His Name, and remember He said He would not hold anyone blameless who misuses His Name.

If we say, “I am loving,” God agrees.

What if you don’t feel loving?  Fortunately it does not depend on you alone.  When you are connected to God and willing to surrender to His Power, He will love through you.

But you have to believe He has that Power and He will do it.

If we say, “I am so mad,” God will not agree.  Not only will The Power flow be interrupted, your words will circulate back to you, and you will only become more angry.

Commit to checking yourself for a week.  Notice what you say when you say, “I am.”

Then check out Who God is and agree with Him!

I AM Loving.

I AM faithful.

I AM compassionate.

I AM merciful.

I AM joyful.

I AM with you always!
