God called Moses.
Moses said to The Lord, “Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since You have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”
Exodus 4:10
The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? … Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”
Exodus 4:11-12
Moses led a nation. He spoke Face to Face with God. He delivered The Ten Commandments.
God called Jeremiah.
Jeremiah said
“Alas, Sovereign Lord, I do not know how to speak; I am too young.”
Jeremiah 1:6
But The Lord said to him, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you.”
Jeremiah 1:7-8
Jeremiah became a major prophet. He learned The Truth God spoke to him and speaks to us today.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares The Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
Jesus called Peter. He told him He would build His Church from him. Not only that, He told him,
“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
Matthew 16:19
Peter swore eternal allegiance. He then cracked under pressure and denied he even knew Jesus.
Jesus knew he would. He told him in advance.
“Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
Luke 22:31-32
Peter did turn back. He did become The Rock. The Church stands today.
There are many more examples all through The Bible of those God called and those who refused His Call. Others accepted His Call and then tried to back out. All the stories end (or really begin) the same way.
God never changes His Mind when He gives gifts or when He calls someone.
Romans 11:29
What Gifts has God given you?
What has He called you to do?
God will never take back the Gifts He has given you.
He will never stop calling you until you answer.
He is with you now and will be as you carry out His Mission on earth.
Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”

Then I heard The Voice of The Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Isaiah 6:8
