What is the “secret” to getting God to answer our prayers?
Often times we believe we know what we need and we try to get God to line up with our will.
We may ask others to “agree with us” in prayer. What we really mean is that we all agree on what we want from God and we tell Him!
While we all agree, it may not occur to us that we should all be agreeing with God in prayer.
In my last post I suggested we should let God speak first. It turns out He has already spoken! His Words are recorded in The Bible.
What God said at any time in the past is still true right now. If it was Truth to David, the gospel writers and Paul, it is Truth to us also.
“I The Lord, do not change!”
Malachi 3:6
“The Word of our God endures forever.”
Isaiah 40:8
If you want God to agree with you, it’s simple. Agree with Him!
God’s Word is alive! When you speak His Words, He will always agree with you.
“All Scripture is God breathed.”
2 Timothy 3:16
“For The Word of God is alive and active.”
Hebrews 4:12
When Jesus was tempted by satan in the dessert, He knew what to do. He spoke The Word of God.
When demons overtook people, Jesus dismissed them with a Word.
When people were sick, their illnesses were cured by The Word.
“He sent out His Word and healed them; He rescued them from the grave.”
Psalm 107:20
Jesus had this to say about agreeing with God:
“I do nothing on My Own but speak just what The Father has taught Me.”
John 8:28
Begin with studying The Bible to see what God says. As you read, ask Him to reveal to you what He wants you to know at that moment.
But also realize you are planting precious seeds that will come up in other seasons.
When you have a concern you want to pray about, begin by being still and knowing He is God. Thank Him for your many blessings. Praise Him.
While God already knows every detail of your present situation, He will be glad to listen to you talk about it. But then be ready for Him to speak.
Wait for Him to bring to mind scriptures already planted in your spirit.
Then just agree! Thank Him and praise Him again!
In my next post, we will be talking more about praying In The Power of The Word of God.
“In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God, and The Word was God!”
John 1:1
