The Asbury Revival has been amazing in so many ways.  God did not just “show up.”  He was always there, as He is everywhere.

But a group of students wanted more than just hearing about Him.  They wanted to know Him.   Knowing Him opens the door to Eternal life.

Jesus said plainly,

“Now this is eternal life: that they know You, The Only True God, and Jesus Christ, Whom You have sent.”

John 17:3

The students came and stayed in humility.  They stayed in unity.  They believed God.  They sought Him with their whole heart.  They found Him.

You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 29:13

As they sought, God pulled back the curtain between Heaven and earth, and said, “Come in.  I’m glad you are here.  Let’s spend some time together.”

Then He invited more people.  Earth time stopped.  Heavenly time prevailed.

Earthly divisions melted away.  Unity of Spirit prevailed.

Being in God’s Presence was being in The Presence of Love itself.

God revealed Himself as a Light from which nothing was hidden.

It was warm and comforting.  But it also pierced any darkness.  Sins were revealed.  True repentance followed.

Deep wounds were healed.  People who did not even know they were broken were made whole.

For those who have experienced this remarkable outpouring, it may be tempting to just curl up in Wilmore, Kentucky and bask in The Glory.  But that is not why The Gift has been given.

It has been given as a preview of what Heaven will be.  It has been given to bring Holy Hunger, so intense it has pulled people out of their spiritual slumber and drawn them to a small Kentucky town just for the Hope of seeing God.

God wants every one of His Creations to know Him.   He was happy to reveal Himself in The Holy Place that was prepared for Him, but I don’t believe He has created the place to be a shrine where people focus more on The Gift than The Giver.

Jesus warned about getting too hung up on places or even certain people.  He told us where to find Him.

The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.

Luke 17:20-21

Paul said,

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of The Holy Spirit, Who is in you, Whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

1 Corinthians 6:19

It is now time for The Glory to move into all the world.  Those who are not called to remain in Wilmore for a specific purpose need to take their lit torches and go where God directs.

It’s time to go into all the world and make disciples.

Jesus said,

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation!”

Mark 16:15

God has put a Temple inside each of us.  When He stands at the door and knocks, it is not that He is trying to get in.  He is desiring to come out of that Temple and go into all the world.

All of us who have been affected by the Asbury Revival now need to turn our attention outward to the world.  We need to start with where we live.

Then we need to go or stay where God calls us to go or stay.

We need to open wide the door from The Temple inside us and let The Holy Spirit come out and bring revival everywhere!

I invite you to listen to this song and ask

God what He wants you to do.
