What was the problem in eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?

Knowledge of good is always good.  Not so with knowledge of evil.

Think of the things you worry about.  You worry because you have some knowledge of evil.

That knowledge attaches itself to you.  It may stay dormant for a long time, but when the time comes, satan will pull it to the surface.

Is there still a “tree” of the knowledge of good and evil?  Yes.  It is called the internet.

I have a very active imagination.  It helped me enjoy many things from reading books to being able to write stories.

I have an innate curiosity about things.  I wonder … and that leads me to wander through books and search the web to try to get answers to my endless questions.

I have almost post traumatic disorder battling memories of all types of suffering I witnessed up close and personal as a nurse for many years.

I had no idea there were so many things that could go wrong with a human body … and how many ways there are to torture that body in the name of trying to fix it.

Additionally, Jay and I have had some real life near medical catastrophes, which seemed to verify sometimes really bad things can happen.

Put that all together, give me a few symptoms that usually turn out to be harmless, give me the internet and I have the potential to enter one of satan’s hell on earth rooms.

I remember someone who had these same symptoms and it ended in disaster.  I am “just curious.”  I search the net.  And oh my goodness, satan brings out tray after tray of possibilities … all very bad.

How do we deal with these panic attacks?

First of all, realize the fear mongering comes from satan and our own private storehouse of knowledge of evil. Anxiety and fear do not come from God.

Perfect Love casts out all fear and God is that — Perfect Love.

Then we must do what Paul said to do.

Cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against The Knowledge of God, and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:5

Don’t take that first bite.  Recognize that siren call for what it is.  Cast down every imagination … everything that would try to make you think of anything but The Knowledge of God.

Do what Jesus said to do.

Do not let your hearts be troubled.

John 14:1

He tells us not to let it happen.  Satan will try to trouble you.  Don’t fall for it.  Don’t bite!

Jesus also said,

Do not be anxious about your life.  Which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? Seek first The Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:25, 27, 33

And most importantly, He said,

Be sure of this.  I am with you always!

Matthew 28:20
