We say everything belongs to God.
We say we live in His House.
We say those who come here come at the invitation of The Lord.
However, sometimes we look upon door to door sales people as intruders on our life. Those brave enough to ring doorbells are not always greeted warmly.
We are making a concentrated effort to live into The Truth these Creations of God have come at His Invitation.
We may tell them we are not interested in purchasing their goods or services. We may gently remind them our HOA requires them to have a permit. Otherwise no soliciting.
But beyond that, we are trying to welcome them and be sensitive to the leading of The Holy Spirit to determine why He has invited them.
Sometimes they are there to bless us in ways beyond what they are selling.
Sometimes they are there to receive a blessing from The Lord to be delivered by us.
Today a tree trimmer named Darryl came to the door. We did not need our trees trimmed. But we had the opportunity to talk to Darryl and express an interest in him.
By the end of our conversation, he asked us to pray with him. He asked specifically for prayers for his daughter who had a baby yesterday. He said there had been some problems. He asked for prayers for Brooklyn.
Jay and I joined hands with him and prayed. I am asking for you to pray also.
I look forward to seeing who God will invite next. Those of us who cannot travel to mission fields far away can still work on the mission field here at home.
Sometimes that mission field is on our front porch!
Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it!
