Do you want to go to Heaven? Many would say, “Yes.”
Have you ever prayed The Lord’s Prayer? If so, then you have prayed for God’s Kingdom to come on earth as it is in Heaven.
How did you think that would happen? If you were waiting for God to wave His Hand and make everyone on earth straighten up and fly right, so you can enjoy Heaven on earth, it likely won’t happen.
We do not have to wait on God. He is waiting on us. Each of us has a portion of The Kingdom of God within us and we are here to reveal it wherever we are.
Jesus said,
The Kingdom of God is within you.
Luke 17:21
Paul said,
We are citizens of Heaven.
Philippians 3:20
We are citizens first and foremost of Heaven. We do obey the laws of earth, but spending some time on earth has not changed our citizenship.
As citizens of Heaven, we have to obey Heaven’s Laws.
Many claim to be Jesus’ Followers, but are not willing to live by His Laws.
Jesus said,
“If you love Me, keep My Commands.”
John 14:15
If anyone loves Me, he will keep My Word.
John 14:23
But He also said,
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter The Kingdom of Heaven, but the one who does The Will of My Father Who is in Heaven.”
Matthew 7:21
“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?”
Luke 6:46
If we are not willing to follow Jesus’ Commands on earth, not only will we miss out on Heaven on earth, we will miss out on Heaven beyond earth.
We can’t pick and choose which earthly laws we will follow and which we will not. We are expected to obey all the laws. The same is true with Heaven’s Laws.
We can’t obey earth laws sometimes and not others. We are expected to observe the laws at all times. The same is true with Heaven’s Laws.
We have to know what the earthly laws are in order to be sure we obey them. We have to know how they apply to us. The same is true for Heaven’s Laws.
There are those who will fight to have The Ten Commendments posted in public places, but cannot tell you without looking what The Ten Commandments are.
If you asked how they are applying each commandment in their daily lives, they might be stumped.
Can you answer those questions yourself?
What are The Ten Commandments?
How do you live each of them in your life?
What about Jesus’ Commands? How are you doing with those?
Love one another.
Love your enemies.
Do good to those who persecute you.
Don’t judge.
Forgive.
If someone takes something from you, freely give him twice as much.
Settle out of court.
Feed the hungry.
Clothe those who need clothes.
Visit those in prison.
Heal the sick.
Preach the gospel.
Tell what The Lord has done.
Do all without boasting about yourself. Give Glory to God.
Believe Heaven can be revealed on earth. It starts with us and that Kingdom inside us.
Learn the laws of that Kingdom.
Obey them.
Share The Good News with others.
The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
