We love our Linus, who tells the Christmas story.  When another family member was added last year, we ordered another Linus for her parents.

We joyfully packed it up and sent it to Georgia.  However, it did not arrive.  Our careful tracking revealed Linus had taken a detour and had gotten lost.

Not wanting to accept defeat, we ordered another Linus.  Before it arrived, the detouring Linus was found and delivered to our Georgia family.

When what we thought was Linus number two arrived at our house, we didn’t open the box.  We felt God was saying to hang on to it and He would tell us to whom it should be delivered.

The Christmas season passed and we had no indication of who was supposed to get Linus number two.  We put the unopened box in storage with our Christmas decorations.  We did not think of it again until this Christmas season.

This season we thought again of Linus number two who we believed had now had a whole year’s nap.  Once again we began to wait expectantly to see who should receive Linus and hear him tell the Christmas story.

Last week a friend saw our Linus and we were able to share the delight of hearing him tell the Christmas story.  She then told me of the shared times she and her family had had watching a Charlie Brown Christmas.

The light turned on.  We knew we had found who was supposed to receive Linus number two.  We started anticipating her next visit when we would give it to her.

Today we opened the box that had been sealed since its arrival.  We wanted to be sure it was in good condition and add batteries if they were needed.

We opened the box and much to our surprise, it was not Linus!😱. It was a Snoopy backpack.

We did not know what to make of this, since we still felt very strongly our friend was to receive Linus.  So we prayed about it.  After all, the whole Linus adventure had been born of our desire to share God’s Word.  We knew He had a Plan.

And so it came to be that we called stores and found another Linus.  The Love of My Life dutifully trooped out into the snow and ice and brought him home.  We hope to deliver him to our friend tomorrow.

And what about the backpack?  Well … God is telling us to give that to our friend too.  He says He will tell her who to deliver it to.  We can hardly wait to hear the end of this story!

Moral of what we know so far.

“For My Thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My Ways,” declares The Lord.

“As the heavens are higher than the earth,so are My Ways higher than your ways and My Thoughts than your thoughts.”

Isaiah 55:8-9.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Wait for it. You can be sure it will come. It will happen when I want it to!
