The Baby has arrived!  Now it is time to give Him a Name.  Why have a name?  Names identify us.  Names help assign our place in memory.  And names are very important to God.  One of God’s first creative assignments for Adam was to allow him to name the creatures of the earth.  God Himself named each individual star.  And God named you!

You might have thought your name was chosen by accident or just at family whim, but in reality God named you.  In Isaiah 43:1, it is recorded

I have redeemed you.  I have called you by name; you are Mine!

God gave Himself a Name.  When Moses asked God to further identify HImself, God gave His Name as “I AM.”  In so doing, God gave us Powerful Entry into the world of miracles.  When we truly desire to be like God, He helps us become like Him, through the use of His Name.  When you put God’s Name of I AM in front of something that is true about Him and repeat it, you will be amazed at how quickly He responds from the inside of you.  He will begin working with your heart and mind to make what you said with your mouth come true in your actions.

Example:  I AM faithful.  I AM merciful.  I AM forgiving. I AM loving.

God was very specific about the Name Jesus was to be given.  The angel told Joseph to name the baby Jesus “because He will save His People from their sins.”  God made Jesus’ Mission clear through His Name.  God also gave Jesus another Name.  He called Him Immanuel, which means “God with us.”  God made it very claar Who Jesus was and is.

In Chapter Twenty-Six of Christmas of Discovery, I invite you to enter the Awesome Presence of God through calling on His Name and the Name of Jesus.  You will find their Names to be far more than just a collection of letters.  Their Names are the Gateway to the Power of The Almighty!
