At The Last Supper, not only did Jesus offer Himself to eat, but He also said something else that must have seemed strange to His Disciples.
Then He took a cup and spoke a prayer of thanksgiving.
He gave it to them and said,
“Drink from it, all of you,
This is My Blood, The Blood of The Promise.
It is poured out for many people
so that sins are forgiven.”
Matthew 26:27-28
Jesus once turned water into wine. Was He now going to change wine into blood … His Blood? Jesus was about to take history up a big notch. This was not to be the blood of an animal. It was not to be sprinkled on the door, like an “evil repellent.” This was going to be Jesus’ Own Blood and He was telling His Followers He wanted it to be inside of them!
What was Jesus doing?
