When I was a child, I was the one fidgeting in the back seat and asking every ten minutes, “Are we there yet?”
I have lived much of my adult life the same way, always anticipating what was coming next and frequently asking God, “Are we there yet?”
The past couple of years have brought events that caused me to think I might have a flat tire and we were really delayed in getting “there.”
When we seemed to be stuck in the middle of “nowhere,” I asked God why we were not “there” yet.
He answered, “You are here. We are exactly where we are supposed to be at this moment. Look around. See the beauty. Learn the lessons I have to teach you here.”
Wherever we are at this moment, God is with us. He has The Plan. It is a Good One. That’s really all we need to know!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
“This is the day the Lord has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
