Why did God reveal Himself as Jesus? He became like us on the outside so we could see how much like Him we are on the inside.
How are you like Jesus?
Jesus was born of a woman. So were you.
Jesus was born in a specific time and place. So were you.
God planned Jesus’ birth. He also planned your birth.
Jesus’ conception happened by The Power of The Holy Spirit. So did yours. Not all acts outside a woman’s body are holy, but what happens inside is up to God. Sperm would never meet egg unless God brought them together.
Jesus grew up in a human way. So did you.
Jesus had teachers. So did you.
Some of Jesus’ teachers taught Truth. Some did not. It was the same with your teachers.
Jesus was tempted by satan to sin. He did not. You too will be tempted. Do not give in to sin.
Jesus had family. He was close with some, but not others. It may be the same with you.
Jesus had friends. So do you.
Some of Jesus’ Friends were true friends. Others were not. Probably true for you.
Jesus learned a trade. He worked. So did you.
Jesus ate. Jesus got tired. Jesus slept. So do you.
Jesus loved being around people, but He also needed some alone time. So do you.
Jesus felt frustration with people sometimes. Some believe He felt anger. So do you.
Jesus felt sorrow. He cried. So do you.
Jesus felt longing for those who would not receive His Love. Perhaps you have too.
Jesus felt dread and questioned what was ahead. He asked God for another plan. Perhaps you have too.
Jesus felt pain. He bled. He got hungry and thirsty. His body responded the same as yours would while suffering.
During intense suffering, Jesus thought of His Mother. He looked for her. He wanted her nearby. Perhaps you would too.
During intense suffering, Jesus looked for His Daddy too. He knew His Father had to be there. But he was suffering so much, He had a moment where he could not see His Daddy and wondered if He was still there. He called for him by Name. Perhaps you would too.
But then Jesus knew His Daddy was there inside Him, feeling everything He was feeling. Of course He was. They were One together, as they had always been and forever would be. So are you.
Jesus surrendered all of Himself into His Father’s Care. You can too.
Whatever suffering you are going through, you can claim Jesus’ proclamation that preceded His Release. It is finished!
Jesus conquered death so you would never have to experience it. And that is how you are different from Jesus.
Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His Death, He might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.
Hebrews 2:14-15
Jesus said,
“Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys My Word will never see death.”
John 8:51
When the time comes for you to go Home, keep your eyes on Jesus and follow His Lead.
Let us keep looking to Jesus. He is The One Who started this journey of faith. And He is The One Who completes the journey of faith. He paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy He was looking forward to. Then He sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
