As we continue to reflect on The Body, today we look at how God used a very special body.
His Body!
God revealed Himself in a human body.
John said,
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.”
John 1:14
Who was The Word? John identified Him from the beginning of his writing.
The Word was God.
John 1:1
God named His Human Revelation of Himself Jesus.
Jesus was God’s Living Demonstration of how we can live in a human body with Him and carry on the same Mission Jesus started.
So how did Jesus use His Body?
Jesus noticed people. Jesus really looked at them. He called them by name. He stopped and talked to them. He listened.
Jesus touched people. He let others touch Him. He connected skin to skin.
He used His Body as a conduit of God’s Healing of the human bodies of others.
He washed dirty feet.
He cooked for people. He fed people.
He blessed people.
He spoke. He taught.
He challenged people. He called people to action.
He forgave.
Jesus’ used His Body to do the same things we do with our body.
He got hungry. He ate.
He got thirsty. He drank.
He got tired. He slept.
He felt sad. He shared in the grief of other people. He cried.
He sweated.
He suffered pain.
He bled.
He claimed the biggest victory anywhere, using His Body.
When satan saw the mangled body on the cross, he was sure he had won. But Jesus was about to be revealed in His New Bodies … yes, millions of them, everywhere across time and space.
You are a part of His Body. He did not give you a mangled body from the cross. He gave you the body you now inhabit.
And He lives there with you, wanting to continue the ministry He started through His Body as Jesus.
Jesus said,
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in Me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to The Father.”
John 14:12
How would it be possible to do what Jesus did and even more?
Because The Work is no longer coming from the One Body of Jesus. It has been, is and will be coming from multiple bodies across time and space.
You are in one of those bodies!
Go back and review how Jesus used His Body on earth and see if you see Him doing the same things through you.
