Jesus gave His Disciples bread at their last supper together. He told them the bread symbolized His Body. He broke the bread into pieces and gave each of them a part from the whole loaf.
They each had a part in His Life and in The Mission to which they were commiting themselves. But it would be necessary for them to GO and DO all He had taught them. They would need to remember that while they each had unique Gifts He had given them, they would need to stay unified in Him for all to experience All of Him.
Jesus would be assigning them to a time of learning how to live with Him inside of them. They would need to learn how to live together and feed and care for each other. Out of their unity would come The Powerful Baptizing by The Holy Spirit that would confirm their Unity and Commitment to The Mission.
Chapters Five and Six reveal God’s Plan for Unity of His Body. He made a New Covenant. That New Covenant covers you!
Jesus told us to remember Him. He had something in mind that went much deeper than just holding HIm in our memory. He wants each of us to willingly bring all He has given us and allow Him to connect us with the rest of His Body. He wants us to literally Re-Member Him!
What is God’s Part in this New Covenant?
… “I will put My Law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God, and they will be My People.
No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know The Lord,’
because they will all know Me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares The Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
Jeremiah 31:33-34
