We are blessed to live in a neighborhood of children.  It is fascinating to watch how they do life.  And it easy to see why Jesus said unless we become as little children, we will never enter the kingdom of God.

Two of the children told us they were going to travel with their parents to see the eclipse today.

I am not sure they even understand what an eclipse is, but they believe it will be exciting because their parents said it would be.

They did not know what time they were leaving.

They did not know the name of the place they were going.  They knew their parents knew and that was enough for them.

They were depending on their parents to pack what they need.

They were depending on their parents to be sure they would have enough to eat and drink.

They were depending on their parents to gas up the car, tell them when it was time to leave, and transport them there.

They were totally at peace and filled with joy about their anticipated adventure.  Their parents knew all the details and their parents said it was going to be great.  That was all they needed to know.

As an adult, I do have to plan some things, but the children were a precious reminder that I should live life more like they do.

My Father God has already planned my next adventure.  He will pack and provide everything I need.  He will drive.  He knows where we are going and how to get there.  He knows how much time it will take to get there.

I don’t know exactly what kind of adventure it will be, but He says it will be great and we will experience it together.

This could be even more fun than an eclipse!

Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 18:3

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares The Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future!”
